The phrase “Note the Difference” was used beginning in the fifties and throughout the late eighties as an informal promotional slogan for Oskaloosa, Iowa. It was used casually on the covers of local publications like those of civic organizations which no longer exist. Its use fell off over the years and then ended. Our non-profit, Note the Difference, registered the slogan and the musical clef image logo as Trademarks with the State of Iowa and with the USPTO) for our organization by the same name. We also used Note the Difference previously in our 2015 campaign to save local historical structures and in community education about our musical heritage.
